What to help more?  Here are some other ways you can become involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters:

Volunteer:  Being a Big can be one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. To be a Big, you just need to be 19 years of age, have a driver's license and pass a background screen. You would be matched with one child (who you would choose), and spend a couple hours each week with them. You choose the activities and the time. We are here to support you throughout your entire match.

Refer Friends:  We all know people in our lives that would make a good Big. Think of your friends, family and co-workers and tell them about how our program is fun and simple. The number one reason people volunteer is because they heard about the program through a friend. You can help us out by simply helping spread the word about our need for more volunteers.

Other Special Events:  Big Brothers Big Sisters is largely funded by special events that takes place each year. An easy way to help out is to participate in a special event or talk to you company about sponsoring an event.

Donate Financially:   Big Brothers Big Sisters relies heavily on individual and corporate donations to keep our program running and growing. For each child that we serve it costs approximately $1,000. Big Brothers Big Sisters is always grateful for any cash, stock or planned giving donations.

Donate Used Clothing:  The Big Brothers Big Sisters Donation Center collects used clothing and household items and sell the items to a retail partner. The funds raised come back to the program and stay in the St. Joseph area.

Corporate Partner:  You can help Big Brothers Big Sisters out by simply talking to your place of employment. We have many different corporate partner options including sponsorships, special event team builders, informational meetings for employees on site, etc. We will also custom build a package that is right for your company.
